USC – University of Caxias do Sul

The University of Caxias do Sul (UCS) is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the northeastern region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. UCS was founded through a collective effort of the community and is maintained by the University of Caxias do Sul Foundation, a legal entity under Private Law. UCS is recognized nationally and internationally for its commitment to academic excellence, sustainability, and regional development. The university offers a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and research programs across disciplines such as engineering, environmental sciences, agribusiness, health sciences, law, and technology.

Beyond its educational mission, UCS plays an active role in scientific dissemination and industry collaboration. The university organizes and co-hosts national and international conferences, technical seminars, and industry forums — serving as a bridge between academia, government, and the private sector.

One of its flagship initiatives is the Southern Brazilian Biogas and Biomethane Forum, co-organized with CIBiogás and Embrapa Swine and Poultry, which brings together experts, policymakers, and business leaders to discuss advances in renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable technologies.
