NoAW – Agricultural Residues for Bioenergy and the Bioeconomy
The NoAW (No Agricultural Waste) project was a Horizon 2020 EU-funded research initiative (Grant Agreement No. 688338) running from 2016 to 2020. It focused on unlocking the potential of agricultural residues by promoting a circular, zero-waste economy. By optimizing the seasonal and regional valorization of agricultural by-products, NoAW aimed to reduce dependency on primary raw materials and support the transition to a sustainable, bio-based economy. The project encouraged the use of environmentally friendly solutions that bring measurable benefits to the economy, the environment, and society.
IBBK played a key role in the project by collecting data, developing business models that connect bioeconomy stakeholders, and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technologies to farmers, companies, and end users across Europe.
